Fishing for black bass

The most explosive predator!

The largemouth bass or black bass (Micropterus salmoides) is also an invasive species that has inhabited the Riba-roja and Mequinenza reservoirs since the 1950s. Without a doubt, for many years it was the king of the reservoir and what made these areas famous as fishing destinations. Nowadays, due to the appearance of new invasive predator species such as the catfish, the zander, and the European perch, the black bass has to compete with many rivals.

Since 2015, the Cataluña Pro Bass fishing club has its headquarters at Camping Port Massaluca, where the Catalonia Bass Boat Championship and the club’s social events are organized.

Adrenaline rush, nerves, fun, and desperation are some of the most common emotions experienced by anglers that make this fish the most addictive. Normally, fishing for it is done from a boat.

Often, anglers surprise themselves – this species makes them lose their minds!
