The Battle of the Ebro
Battle of the Ebro Reenactment
Every year, on the last weekend of July, the reenactment of the Battle of the Ebro is organized by the Museum of the Battle of the Ebro in Fayón. It’s a unique opportunity to experience firsthand (for those who participate) or as an observer what it meant to cross the Ebro in the midst of conflict.
Although there are several marked points of interest where you can visit the trenches and fortifications, the truth is that the entire territory is filled with them. Near the campsite, the most touristic and visited points are Punta del Duc and els barrancs de Vilalba dels Arcs.
Museums of the Battle of the Ebro
We have already mentioned the museum in Fayón, the largest in Spain dedicated solely to the Battle of the Ebro. Apart from this museum, in Terra Alta there are multiple interpretation centers and several marked routes, which include Punta del Duc. You can find more information on the COMEBE (Consortium for the Memorial of the Battle of the Ebro Spaces) website.
